Extended walks in Misty Mountains Misty Mountains offers experienced walkers some of the most pristine and rewarding long distance hiking tracks in Australia. You can walk down the range, starting in Ravenshoe and finishing at Cochable Creek campsite or try the ultimate long distance walk: start at the Cardwell Range trailhead (near Ravenshoe) and walk down to the Gorrell trailhead, 71.4 kilometres away! Permits are required for camping and vehicle access on some roads. Designated campsites are located throughout the Misty Mountains. Camping fees apply.
